Become a Volunteer!
Hospice Volunteers are an integral part of the hospice team. They fill roles that range from direct patient contact with patients and their families to providing clerical support and fundraising. Medicare requires that Arizona Compassionate Hearts Hospice utilize volunteers alongside our paid clinical and administrative staff. Hospice Volunteers describe their volunteer work as being both stimulating and emotionally meaningful.
Becoming a volunteer for Arizona Compassionate Hearts Hospice may be one of the greatest joys of your life!
How Hospice Volunteers Can Serve:
Patient companionship; this could include visiting, reading, taking walks, writing letters or listening to music.
Respite or support for family members; this can include assistance with shopping, staying with the patient while family members run errands, exercise or go to doctor appointments.
Bereavement; this can include working closely with the bereavement staff including assisting with mailings.
Fundraising and administrative work; this can include office duties such as preparing mailings or thank you letters to organizing fund-raising events and contacting potential donors.
